We started offering mens underwear in 1996 and have been a major dot com, selling men's underwear ever since. Over the past few years we've grown from selling one line of mens underwear to the many and varied styles and lines of underwear that we currently offer. Our mission: offer quality underwear at reasonable prices with outstanding customer service.

We realize that you could buy your undies at just about any retail store or dot com, so we strive to offer quality merchandise, prompt delivery, competitive prices, excellent customer service and convenience when shopping for men's underwear at Brief Tales.  We also offer some pretty nice shots of guys in their underwear and we've even included Panties as an underwear choice. 

How is my email information used?

When you place an order, we use your email to send you an order confirmation and tracking information.

We also use your email to forward 'ShortNotes', our newletter announcing new products, BriefTales information and Specials.  You may request we not send you any information via email by sending an a request to the following:

Please be sure to include your full and order number so we can remove you from our mailing list.  Please note:  each order is treated seperately so you should contact us to remove your email from our list with each order you place.

 

What does "Alternate Color OK?" mean?

In order to offer you greater color selections and to maintain manageable inventory levels, we offer Choice color selections aimed at saving you money while allowing us to better control inventory.

Where color is an option, you'll save money when you make your selection from the Choice items. Choosing a specific color, i.e. Black Only, might delay your shipment and will  cost you more.

So....if it say's  "Select Alternate Color".  Choose the 'Yes' option.  We'll ship the size and style you've requested but we may alter the color you've selected.   It's a win/win for both of us.

What is the shipping cost for orders both internationally and domestic (United States)?

(Please note:  our shipping rate table is an estimate based on United States Postal Service rates.  Domestic orders weighing over 12 ounces and International orders may be charged an additional fee.  All orders will have a minimum shipping charge of $6.00.  Should actual shipping charges exceed the amount of shipping charged on your order, the actual shipping charge plus $5.00 will be charged.)   Please email us with additional questions or concerns regarding our shipping rates.

UPS and Federal Express are  also an option for domestic (United States Orders).  Add $5.00 to the actual shipping charge.  International UPS and FedEx will be quoted individually. Please send email to the following email address.

Can my order be shipped to an address other than the Credit Card billing address? SHS?

Yes!  We will ship domestically to addresses other than the credit card address entered on our check-out form.   We DO NOT ship outside of the United States to an address not listed as the Billing Address.

There is a surcharge  for orders being shipped to any address other than that listed as the billing address.  The minimum  surcharge is $4.00, however, depending on circumstances, your charge may be higher.   Contact customer service for additional information.

 

 

What size should I order? Men's Underwear and Panties

Most items at BriefTales has a size chart button for the particular brand of underwear. If it does not, please use the guide below.  Please disregard the Hip size, unless it applies.

Can I have my order shipped by FedEx or UPS?

Yes, you can request Federal Express or UPS.  Be sure to enter your request in the comments section at final check out.  Note that the shipping charges indicated on your order will not be correct.  We will adjust your shipping based on weight and delivery address.  Also note,  UPS and FEDEX will not deliver to PO Boxes.

We charge $5.00 for special handling.

How does your charge show up on my Credit Card Statement?

Credit Card Charges will show on your statement from NewHope Products - BriefTales or simply:  brieftales.com or NewHope.   No, it's not a religious order....it's the name of a great little town in Pennsylvania with lots of charm, character and antiques.  My former partner and I, CDA, visited New Hope, PA.  Though the trip was troubling as a couple, I enjoyed the quaint charm of the area and the people so I named our parent company NewHope Products, after the town.  I wanted to create a company that had lots to offer while being able to offer personalized service in the same quaint charming way the people of NewHope PA did.

What is your Returns policy?

Yes, we accept returns but please note  our policies regarding returns.


1-  Please verify size before you open the package!   You must notify us via  email to BriefTales of your intent to return and the reason for your return.  You will receive a return authorization code (RAC) during normal business hours. 

Your RAC must accompany your return both on the outside of the return package and inside on your Shipping Notification or a copy of your Shipping Notification.  Items returned without a RAC will not be accepted.

In the event we shipped the incorrect item, we will charge your form of payment for the correct item and ship the correct item, then  credit your form of payment, plus USPS F/C shipping once your return is received.  No other return shipping method will be reimbursed.

2-  You agree to pay  $2.00 per item re-stock  fee for any item(s) we agree to accept unless the error was ours.

3-  Items should not have been worn  and items must be returned in their original packaging.  Trying the item on, is considered worn and refund / exchange will not be acceptable.


4-  Returns must be received within 14 days from ship date for form of payment credit.    Items received by us after 14 days from shipping date will not be exchanged, refunded, credited or returned unless you agree to pay the shipping charges to return the item(s) to you.  (Some exceptions can be made but rarely)

How will Credit be issued?

Credit for returned merchandise will be issued to the Credit Card used to charge the order, or if paid by check, a check will be issued.   This applies to items returned within 30 days of being shipped to you. 

Items returned after 30 days will not be credited or refunded or exchanged.

When will my order be shipped?

We make every attempt to process your order as quickly as possible, typically within 48 hours (excluding holidays and weekends).  Sometimes, due to overwhelming demand and/or supplier shortages, we ask that you allow 3-4 weeks for your order to arrive.  Remember:  Patience is a virture.

How do you ship my order?

Most orders are shipped USPS  First Class, within 48 hours of your order OR via UPS OR Federal Express (FedEx).  

Occasionally, due to the contents and value of your order, packages are shipped insured and requesting a return receipt (I.E. signature) to verify you received your order.   Packages not retrieved from your local Postal Service or not signed for as required by UPS or FedEx and then returned to us will not be refunded except we may refund the purchase price of the order but not the shipping.  Additionally,  if any of the delivery carriers we use charge us a fee to return your order, that will be charged to your form of payment.  Re-shipment will incur additional shipping charges.  Orders placed on www.brieftales.com are subject to these terms and conditions and by placing your order, you agree to these terms and conditions.

We urge you to make every effort to retrieve and/or sign for the packages you have ordered.  Both FedEx and UPS offer you the option of signing once for all packages that arrive where a signature is required.  You might wish to consider this option. 

Occasionally, we out-sell our inventory of a particular item.  Though we try very hard to maintain adequate inventory, we sometimes run out.   On rare occasions, please allow 3-4 weeks for your order to be completed.  We ship partial orders rather than hold your entire order and there is no additional shipping charge for this service.

If we ship your order and indicate an item is "on order", we will process you order as soon as our inventory is available.  If you prefer to not wait, please notify us to cancel you order, otherwise,  we'll ship as quickly as possible.

Are Payments by Check treated differently?

 YES!  We live in a 'plastic' and 'electronic' age.   Given that, there is no instant check approval process that we've found workable for us.  Having said that,  we do not accept personal checks.  We do accept Cashier's Checks and money orders, payable in United States Dollars ($).  No other form of 'check' payment is acceptable.  Personal checks sent as payment will not be accepted and will not be returned. 

Please shop with your credit card or purchase Cashier's Checks from your local bank. 

 

Why are some items marked 'Close-Out' ?

Occasionally, we offer merchandise at Close-Out prices.  This does not mean the merchandise is defective.   What happens is that we determine if our vendors are able to keep our shelves stocked on a continuous basis.  If the item is a good seller but our supplier has trouble keeping up with our demand,  we might put that item on closeout, while still trying to maintain adequate inventory.

 If we decide that an item is will no longer be offered to our customers, we then remove that item from our inventory and offer it as a clearence, close-out or discontinued item.  

Unfortunately, we occasionally run out and are unable to re-stock our shelves.  If that occurs, we will note on your shipping statement that the item is no longer available.   If your first choice of color is not available, we'll substitute with an alternate color in your size. 

What about my Free-Gift?

We want our customers to try new products and to know that we are appreciative of their time and for visiting our BriefTales.  To thank our customers, we offer a free gift for each order over a minimum about, excluding shipping and taxes, where applicable. 

To make our offer even more special, we offer our customers a choice of the item they'd like as their 'free gift' based on the amount of their order.   Please visit our 'free gift' selection from the menu to view the gifts available and the amount you would want to purchase.  Once you get to check-out, you'll be asked to select your free gift. 

Occasionally, your free item might be  unavailable at the time we process your order.  In these cases, we substitute a similar product so that your order can be promptly processed and shipped.

Additionally,  you may incur a slight extra shipping charge, depending on the weight of the 'free' item you choose.  Your order amount will be adjusted and processed based on the items ordered as your 'gift'.

 

Is my credit card information safe?

It is broken into parts and sent separately.  We must then access another site using our secure logon ID to retrieve the missing part of your credit card. 

It would be very unlikely a 'hacker' could combine the pieces of your credit card information and have access to your credit card.  We have been on the web, using the same credit card verification service and shopping cart for over nine years and have not had a single incidence of credit card fraud reported where someone getting credit card data from our site.  On our side of the credit card issue,  our customer application is very secure with limited access even by our employees.  Further, we do not sell or share any of the information you provide.

Why was my credit card declined?

Declined - If we have directed you here via email, it's because our credit card verification service has declined to accept the charge against your account at this time.  Please consider re-placing your order, using a different credit card or by paying for your order by check or money order.   Our ordering process accepts payment from your checking account,  just as if you wrote a check.

Rest assured, we use secure processing so the information you provide is kept in confidence and secure from the internet world.

What if my address doesn't match the address on my order form.

What do you mean, my address doesn't match?   If we have directed you here via email, it's because our credit card verification service is unable to approve your charge because your address doesn't match.

Our processing compares the address given with the address on your credit card statement.  This is the address where your credit card statement is mailed  each month.  Unfortunately, the address you provided on your order doesn't match.  In order for us to protect our customers from unscrupulous credit card fraud, we require an address match in order to process your order.  Please know that we will ship to an alternate address.  However, we must have your correct billing address in order to process your order.

Please provide the correct billing address as shown on your charge card statement so that we can process your order as quickly as possible.  Please be sure to tell us your order number or name so we can update your records.

Also,  for your peace of mind,  we do not divulge any of the information you provide to any outside source.  We respect your privacy.

How do I become a BriefTales Model?

Thanks for your interest in modeling our underwear.  As you can see from the model shots on our website, we look for the guys  and women (to pose with our models) that look good in our underwear.  

In our experience, to look good in your underwear, you have to feel good in your underwear.  If you don't mind dropping pants and posing in underwear and you feel comfortable with your body, you could be a candidate. 

Shoots generally last about two hours:  it's hard work but we do take breaks.   Candid shots are also taken and often, they're the best shots for the site to reveal the products we offer.

Do you open email with attachments?

BriefTales will not open an email with an attachment.  If you wish to send us email, please feel free to do so.  Open and paste any attachments but do not include file attachments.  Pictures may be sent but they must not be attachments. 

Email with attachments are immediately deleted.  We must protect our computers:  servers, lan and email.  Your coorporation is appreciated.

Can I have a frequent shopper discount? I've shopped at BriefTales before.

Of course!  We thrive on customer loyalty.  Just let us know.  Enter promotion code Repeat  during the checkout process.  We'll verify your customer status.  If  you are indeed, a returning customer, we'll discount your purchase by 5%, excluding shipping and any applicable taxes.  You must enter the above promotion code during checkout for our returning customer discount!

Most jobs are located in the suburbs of Chicago  and require English Speaking Skills, Windows (Word and Access) for data-entry.  Good phone skills are also required and you must also be comfortable working with men's underwear: packaging, shipping, order taking and occasionally selling the products through phone inquiries.

Can I visit your store?

Brief Tales does not have a store at this time.  We have a rather large warehouse, but it isn't open to the public.

In the near future we plan to open a retail outlet and will announce it's opening via email and our web site.  Be sure to sign up for email announcements from our menu at the top of the page.

What are Promotion Codes?

Occasionally BriefTales offers promotion codes that when entered during the checkout process, will deduct a specific % (percent) from your order, excluding shipping and taxes.  All promotion codes are valid for a specified period of time.  Once the promotion ends, the discount no longer applies.

No!  We never sell, rent or share our customer information to any one for any reason.  Your order is shipped directly from our warehouse.  By doing this, we keep your personal information from becoming public.

 

What does "Discontinued" mean?
We occasionally decide that an underwear item should be sold to make room for something different.  When we move an underwear to our "Discontinued" rack, we offer a sale price.   With discontinued items, we no longer order them from our vendors: not all colors will be available.  In the event we don't have your first color selection, we'll substitute your size in a different color or print if available. 

Can I place a special order?
Can I place a special order?  Of course.  If you know what you're looking for and you don't find it on our website, please email Special Order Request or call with your request.  We'll do out best to provide the product you're looking for and at a reasonable price.

Yes,  I do!   Of course,  BriefTales is a business and though we offer our customers a great website and excellent customer service, we also have a business to run.

Having said the above:  we'll be happy to talk to you about our products.  Sizing, colors, texture, fit and order history information.   However,  once we go past that, we have to charge for our phone time.

Please don't be offended if we ask for a credit card and billing information. We charge $10.00 for 10 minutes of 'underwear' talk. 

If it's during our normal business hours, M-F 9 AM - 6 PM, we're on the clock and we're sending men's underwear and panty's to a lot of people around the world.  For us to take the time (though enjoyable), we must put a price on our time.  After hours, i.e after 6 PM and before 9 AM any day, the fee is $20.00 for 10 minutes.  Minutes will be rounded UP!

If you want to schedule time in advance, please place your order on our website:  Product code (use the search by brand:BriefTales) item: BTtalk.  Select the number of minutes you wish and of course, enter your credit card information.  We'll do our best to accomodate your time frame so leave that information in the comments section of your order.  Random calls will be accomodated if possible.

How is my domesic (United States) order shipped?

Most orders are shipped via United States Postal Service, First Class.  However, due to weight restrictions, we might, at our discretion,  ship your order using Priority Mail.

Upon written request, we will ship USPS Priority Mail, USPS Express Mail, UPS next day, UPS 2nd day, UPS ground or FedEx next day, FedEx 2nd day or FedEx ground.  Additional charges will be indicated on your Shipping Notification (receipt) as SHS (shipping surcharge).

How is my international (orders being shipped outside of the United States) shipped?

International orders are orders that ship from us, in the United States, to destinations outside of the United States.  Our shipping rate table and the charge on your order is accurate except that, occasionally, your order might entail additional 'customs forms' and time to prepare.  Any additional charges above those on your order will be indiated on you Shipping Notification as 'Shipping Surcharge' or SHS.

Once we deliver your order to the United States Postal Service, we have no control over it's arrival at your destination.  You may request that your order be shipped with tracking information and we will adjust your shipping charge accordingly.  However, orders shipped internationally, without tracking information, is out of our control once we deliver it to the shipping authorities.  Lost, damaged, pilfered packages are beyond our control unless you request and pay the additional fees to insure your order.  Additional charges will be indicated as Shipping Surcharge (SHS) on your Shipping Notification.
