We started offering mens underwear in 1996 and have been a major dot com, selling men's underwear ever since. Over the past few years we've grown from selling one line of mens underwear to the many and varied styles and lines of underwear that we currently offer. Our mission: offer quality underwear at reasonable prices with outstanding customer service.
We realize that you could buy your undies at just about any retail store or dot com, so we strive to offer quality merchandise, prompt delivery, competitive prices, excellent customer service and convenience when shopping for men's underwear at BriefTales.
We also offer some pretty nice shots of guys in their underwear and we've even included Panties as an underwear choice.
Legalize: we reserve the right to correct / modify product information including price due to errors, either human or electronic error or oversight.
How is my email information used?
When you place an order, we use your email to send you an order confirmation and tracking information.
We also use your email to forward 'ShortNotes', our newsletter announcing new products, BriefTales information and Specials. Sometimes we just send you a Short Story about something we found interesting. You may request we not send you any information via email by sending your request to:

What does "Alternate Color OK?" mean?
In order to offer you greater color selections and to maintain manageable inventory levels, we offer Choice color selections aimed at saving you money while allowing us to better control inventory.
Where color is an option, you'll save money when you make your selection from the Choice items. Choosing a specific color, i.e. Black Only, might delay your shipment and will cost you more.
So....if it say's "Is alternate Color OK?". Choose the 'Yes' option. We'll ship the size and style you've requested but we may alter the color you've selected. It's a win/win for both of us.
Can I pay with PayPal or Western Union?
In addition to most major credit cards, you can pay using your verified PayPal account for domestic orders and Western Union for International orders.
During checkout, indicate you will pay via Check, Cashier's Check or Money Order. Then, in the comments box, indicate that you would like to pay via PayPal.
If you've requested PayPal, we'll send you a payment request through our PayPal account and once you've completed the payment, we'll ship your order.
If you're an international order, we'll email you the amount of funds to make available to us through Western Union. From any Western Union Service in your country, you can send the money to this Western Union location: Fifth Third Bank, 121 N Barrington Rd, 60194, Schaumburg, Illinois. Make the funds payable to NewHope Products – BriefTales.
We may also, ask, at our discretion, that you use Western Union for any International order. This is another step we take to reduce credit card fraud and to remain a viable company. Your coorporation is appreciated.
What is the shipping cost for orders both internationally and domestic (United States)?

(Please note: our shipping rate table is an estimate based on United States Postal Service rates and are based on the total of all item(s) purchased. Shipping for all items including sale and discontinuted items is based on the original price. Domestic orders weighing over 12 ounces and International orders may be charged an additional fee. All orders will have a minimum shipping charge of $6.50). Please email us with additional questions or concerns regarding our shipping rates.
UPS and Federal Express are also an option for domestic (United States Orders). We will add $15.00 to the actual UPS/FedEx shipping. International UPS and FedEx will be quoted individually upon request. Please send email to the following email address. International tracking is available. Can my order be shipped to an address other than the Credit Card billing address? SHS?
Yes! We will ship domestically to addresses other than the credit card address entered on our check-out form. We DO NOT ship to an address not listed as the Billing Address unless, it is to the same person as the card holder(billing address) AND in the USA. In other words... we can't ship your order to another person at another address.
Orders that are placed by a person in one country that have indicated shipping to another person in another country will be shipped to the person placing the order. It will be their responsibilty to ship the order to the final destination. There will be no exceptions. Shipping will be adjusted to that of domestic shipping.

How does your charge show up on my Credit Card Statement?
Credit Card Charges will show on your statement from NewHope Products - BriefTales or simply: brieftales.com or NewHope. No, it's not a religious order....it's the name of a great little town in Pennsylvania with lots of charm, character and antiques. I enjoyed the quaint charm of the area and the people so I named our parent company NewHope Products, after the town. I wanted to create a company that had lots to offer while being able to offer personalized service in the same quaint charming way the people of NewHope PA did.
Can I have my order shipped by FedEx or UPS?
Yes, you can request Federal Express, UPS and USPS Priority. We ask that you contact us directly so that we can work with you to find a suitable means of shipping. We will adjust your shipping charge based on weight and delivery address. Also note, UPS and FEDEX will not deliver to PO Boxes.
We charge $15.00 for special handling above the actual shipping charge.
If USPS Priority Mail is requested for shipments within the United States, we charge $6.00 above the charge shown on your order.
How is my domesic (United States) order shipped?
Most orders are shipped via United States Postal Service, First Class. However, due to weight restrictions, we might, at our discretion, ship your order using Priority Mail.
Upon written request, we will ship USPS Priority Mail, USPS Express Mail, UPS next day, UPS 2nd day, UPS ground or FedEx next day, FedEx 2nd day or FedEx ground. Additional charges will be indicated on your Shipping Notification (receipt) as SHS (shipping surcharge). All special requests incur a $6.00 service charge above the actual shipping cost.
How is my international order being shipped? (orders being shipped outside of the United States)
International orders are orders that ship from us, in the United States, to destinations outside of the United States. Packages are generally shipped USPS Priority. We use the small Flat Rate Box. If your order doesn't fit in this size of box, we then ship USPS First Class Parcel or USPS Priority Mail, Large Box. Our shipping rate table and the charge on your order is accurate except that, occasionally, your order might entail additional 'customs forms' and time to prepare or package size other than small. Any additional charges above those on your order will be indicated on you Shipping Notification as 'Shipping Surcharge' or SHS. Since you have read these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), additional charges will be added to your order and charged as listed above. You agree to these charges.
Once we deliver your order to the United States Postal Service, we have no control over it's arrival at your destination. You may request that your order be shipped with tracking information and we will adjust your shipping charge accordingly. However, orders shipped internationally, without tracking information, is out of our control once we deliver it to the United States Post Office. Lost, damaged, pilfered packages are beyond our control. If this is a concern, please inquire before placing your order.
BriefTales bears no responsibility for international orders once they have been properly mailed/shipped from our site. Refunds and replacement of lost, pilfered or damaged items shipped internationally will not be offered or generated. Your agree to these conditions when you place your order for items to be shipped to an address outside of the United States.
What is your Returns policy?
You may return unworn, unlaundered items within 15 days of delivery for store credit only. Please make sure all tags and packaging are intact. Due to health code regulations and our personal hygiene policy, underwear must be unopened.
We do not accept returns for "thongs", "g-strings", c-rings, ball-lifters and bulges (no exceptions).
There is a $5.00 fee per item for returns for any of the following (but not limited to) reasons: didn't fit, don't like, it wasn't what I thought it was, wrong color, etc.).
We will process your returns for exchange or store credit within 10 business days of receipt and notify you once we have done so. You will be emailed a credit authorization code (CAC) to be used when you place your next order.
Review our Size Charts or call our customer service for correct sizing information.
1- Please verify size and color before you open the package!
2- You must notify us via email at BriefTales of your intent to return any items and the reason for your return. You will receive a return authorization code (RAC).
Your RAC must accompany your return both on the outside of the return package and inside on your Shipping Notification or a copy of your Shipping Notification. Items returned without a RAC will not be accepted.
In the event we shipped the incorrect item, we will charge your form of payment for the correct item and ship the correct item, then credit your form of payment, plus USPS F/C shipping once your return is received. No other return shipping method will be reimbursed.
3- You agree to pay $5.00 per item for any item(s) we agree to accept within the timeframe specified above.
4- Items should not have been worn and items must be returned in their original packaging. Trying the item on is Not OK. Wearing the item for any length of time is NOT OK! Any item we consider to have been worn will not be eligible for a credit or exchange.

How will Credit be issued?
Store credit will be issued for any and all returns.
Items returned after 30 days will not be credited, exchanged or returned.

We'll certainly try our best to make that happen. Depending on how far away the "date" or "event" is, we might ship other than First Class USPS mail. Express, Priority, Next Day and two day are certainly available. Your order will be shipped in the method we think appropriate for you to receive your order by your "must have by (date-event)". Charges for these additional shipping costs will be added to your order's total and billed along with your order. These costs are in addition to the shipping charges that appear on your order.
When will my order be shipped?
We make every attempt to process your domestic (USA) order as quickly as possible, typically within 48 hours (excluding holidays and weekends). Sometimes, due to overwhelming demand and/or supplier shortages, we ask that you allow 3-4 weeks for your order to arrive. Remember: Patience is a virture.
International Orders over $100 will be held for 28 days once credit card is processed. This is to ensure that no fraudulant activity is occuring using your credit card.
Payment of International orders using a 'verified' PayPal account are shipped immediately. Because shipping charges might be adjusted, please contact us for accurate shipping charges for your order before you submit PayPal payment.
How is my order shipped?

Are Payments by Check treated differently?
YES! We live in a 'plastic' and 'electronic' age. Given that, there is no instant check approval process that we've found workable for us. Having said that, we do not accept personal checks. We do accept Cashier's Checks and money orders, payable in United States Dollars ($). No other form of 'check' payment is acceptable. Personal checks sent as payment will not be accepted and will not be returned.
Please shop with your credit card or purchase Cashier's Checks from your local bank.
Why are some items marked Close-out or Discontinued?
Occasionally, we offer merchandise at close-out prices. This does not mean the merchandise is defective. Once we determine that an item is to be discontinued, we mark it "Discontinued". Discontinued items are non-refundable and may not be exchanged. Sales are final on discontinued and close-out items. Prices have been dramatically reduced to clear our inventory.
If we have your size but not the color you ordered, we'll substitute with an alternate color in your size if you have selected the "Alternate Color OK" "Yes" button. If you select "Alternate Color OK" "No", we will ship the remainder of your order and cancel the item that is no longer available. Additionally, quantities may be adjusted down in the event we have fewer than you order. Shipping will be adjusted.
Backorders will NOT be created for close-out and discontinued items.
Sales of close-out and discontinued items are FINAL.
What about my Free-Gift?
We want our customers to try new products and to know that we are appreciative of their time and for visiting us at BriefTales. To thank our customers, we offer a free gift with each order over a minimum amount, excluding shipping, taxes and sale and discontinued items that are already marked down.
To make our offer even more special, we offer our customers a choice of the item they'd like as their 'free gift' based on the amount of their order. Please visit our 'free gift' selection from the menu to view the gifts available and the amount you would want to purchase. Once you get to check-out, you'll be asked to select your free gift.
Occasionally, your free item might be unavailable at the time we process your order or we choose to alter your selection for a variety of reasons. We will do our best to accomodate your free item. However, we reserve the right to change your selection for any and all reasons.

We have been on the web, using the same credit card verification service and shopping cart for over nine years and have not had a single incidence of credit card fraud reported where someone getting credit card data from our site. On our side of the credit card issue, our customer application is very secure with limited access even by our employees. Further, we do not sell or share any of the information you provide.
Why was my credit card declined?
Declined - If we have directed you here via email, it's because our credit card verification service has declined to accept the charge against your account at this time. We will request correcting information from you via email and telephone. Your timely response to our request will speed the process along so your order can ship quickly.
Often the problem is a mis-typed number, an incorrect expiration date or card service code. Othertimes, it's because you entered an address different from where your credit card statement is mailed.
What if my address doesn't match the address on my order form.
What do you mean, my address doesn't match?
Our processing compares the address given with the address on your credit card statement. This is the address where your credit card statement is mailed each month. Unfortunately, the address you provided on your order doesn't match. In order for us to protect our customers from unscrupulous credit card fraud, we require an address match in order to process your order. Please know that we will ship to an alternate address. However, we must have your correct billing address in order to process your order.
Please provide the correct billing address as shown on your charge card statement so that we can process your order as quickly as possible. Please be sure to tell us your order number or name so we can update your records.
Also, for your peace of mind, we do not divulge any of the information you provide to any outside source. We respect your privacy.

How do I become a BriefTales Model?
Thanks for your interest in modeling our underwear. As you can see from the model shots on our website, we look for the guys and women (to pose with our models) that look good in our underwear.
In our experience, to look good in your underwear, you have to feel good in your underwear. If you don't mind dropping pants and posing in underwear and you feel comfortable with your body, you could be a candidate.
Shoots generally last about two hours: it's hard work but we do take breaks. Candid shots are also taken and often, they're the best shots for the site to reveal the products we offer.

Do you open email with attachments?
BriefTales will not open an email with an attachment. If you wish to send us email, please feel free to do so. Open and paste any attachments but do not include file attachments. Pictures may be sent but they must not be attachments.

If you are indeed, a returning customer, we'll discount your purchase by 5%, excluding shipping and any applicable taxes. Can I visit your store?
Brief Tales does not have a store at this time. We have a rather large warehouse, but it isn't open to the public.
In the near future we plan to open a retail outlet and will announce it's opening via email and on our web site. Be sure to sign up for email announcements from our menu at the top of the page.
What are Promotion Codes?
Occasionally BriefTales offers promotion codes that when entered during the checkout process, will deduct a specific % (percent) from your order, excluding shipping and taxes. All promotion codes are valid for a specified period of time. Once the promotion ends, the discount no longer applies.
Typically, the advertisement will indicate the amount of the discount being offered. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for promotion discount information if you have questions.
If you're a new customer (first time BriefTales purchase), please enter Promotion Code "PNEW" during checkout for a 5% discount on your purchase excluding shipping and taxes where applicable. Is my email or other personal information shared?
No! We never sell, rent or share our customer information to any one for any reason. Your order is shipped directly from our warehouse. By doing this, we keep your personal information from becoming public.
Special Orders: Can I place an order for something NOT on your website?
Yes! We will do our best to accommodate your request. If we can locate the item and the vendor, we will certainly Special Order for you. Special Orders will require pre-payment. Returns or exchanges are non-refundable if the items we Special Order for you are not something we normally carry. We will make an attempt to return the items to our vendor if you do wish to return, however, in the event we are unable to do so, you will be charged 50% of the quoted purchase price plus shipping costs we incur to procure the items for your special order.
I love to talk about underwear and men wearing underwear. Do you offer 'personal shopping assistance'?
Yes, we do!
Of course, BriefTales is a business and though we offer our customers a great website and excellent customer service, we also have a business to run.
Having said the above: we'll be happy to assist you in determining the best size, color, style or whatever else you would like to talk about. Sizing, colors, texture, fit and order history information. However, once we go past that, we have to charge for our phone time, thus our personal shopping service. All phone charges will be deducted from the order you place during your call.
If you want to schedule time in advance, please place your order on our website: Product code (use the search by brand:BriefTales) item: BTtalk. Select the number of minutes you wish and of course, enter your credit card information. We'll do our best to accomodate your time frame so leave that information in the comments section of your order. Spontaneous calls will be accomodated if possible.
